Vineyards

Odonata Wines is the realization of my dream. I believe that high quality grapes are crucial for making high quality wines. Therefore, I am farming the majority of my production right here in Santa Cruz. I work tirelessly in all of my vineyards and very closely with the growers of my other grapes. I feel it essential to be in the vineyard to ensure the highest quality wine from the ground to the glass.

Durif

The Durif is from the McDowell Valley Vineyard in Mendocino County. The same family has tended this vineyard for generations. These particular vines were planted in 1948. Wines produced from vineyards of this age tend to be high in complexity due to the fact that each vine is on a unique evolutionary path and possesses its own individual flavor profile. The McDowell Valley Vineyard produces very low yields of grapes. This low yield produces grapes that are highly concentrated in flavor.
